Staff & Volunteers
There are five staff in the FRC, a full-time Project Manager Anita Carroll, a half-time administrator Karen Kenny. Lisa Molloy is our half time Community and Family Support Worker. Bernie Mitchel is our full-time resource worker and John Cousins is part-time caretaker. The FRC is heavily reliant on volunteers without our volunteers we would not be in a position to deliver our counselling service and some of our community education programmes.
Volunteer counsellors working in the Centre are: Anne Colgan – Counselling Psychotherapist, accredited supervisor MIACP; MIAHIP; MECP. Anne’s role is to support the counsellors and work with the counselling sub-group to ensure the Centre continues to develop counselling services, in line with best practice. Counsellors working in the Centre are Caroline Phelan, Helena Cuffe, Bernadette Murrary, Margarita Gonzalez and Deirdre Stanley Merren.
Marie Gregan is our Personal Development facilitator and would be well known for her work in the Gorey Hypnotherapy Clinic. The Centre has been very lucky over the past three years to have Marie deliver our basic and advanced personal development programme. With her ongoing support many people continue to regain self-esteem and take control of life situations. Pamela McDonough is our resident Knitting tutor, giving her time every Wednesday evening to teach the ladies knitting and crochet.
Pamela’s patient tuition has supported many beginners to turn out some lovely garments. Lauire O’Brien is our life coach facilitator, Laurie works on an individual basic with people supporting them through a process of life changes.
Richie Dunne was one of our first volunteers to work in the Centre. Richie started way back in September 2010 and operates our weekly drop-in facility, welcoming people to the Centre making them a cuppa and of course keeping us all up to date the latest news.
Gorey Family Resource Centre current committee members include: Nigel Tate, Trish O’Connor, Beatrice Kinsella, Carolanne Doyle, Collette Fassnidge, Jennifer Power, Nuala Carton, Denise O’Connor and Sunniva Collier.
